Lincoln Highway in Carroll County
July 5, 2013: In downtown Carroll, the city erected special Lincoln Highway pillars at intersections between 3rd Street and the courthouse. One has a time capsule. (Just because I skipped a day doesn’t mean I should skip a county. Oops!)

The Ideal Section of the Lincoln Highway
In far western Indiana near the Illinois state line, in the early 1920s, the “Ideal Section” of the Lincoln Highway was built. It was four lanes of concrete pavement with streetlights. Here’s a link to an article with pictures.
