{"id":10136,"date":"2018-07-31T10:00:02","date_gmt":"2018-07-31T15:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/?p=10136"},"modified":"2018-07-29T17:40:40","modified_gmt":"2018-07-29T22:40:40","slug":"sabula-bridge-delayed-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2018\/07\/sabula-bridge-delayed-again\/","title":{"rendered":"Sabula bridge delayed again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The shiny new Mississippi River bridge at Sabula will be lonely for a few more weeks as high waters have delayed <a href=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2018\/03\/boater-helps-sabula-after-bridge-closure\/\">construction at the overflow bridge<\/a> again. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.news.iowadot.gov\/newsandinfo\/2018\/07\/-high-waters-cause-unanticipated-schedule-delays-in-sabula-bridge-construction-project.html\">The Iowa DOT says it won&#8217;t be done in time for Labor Day.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kwqc.com\/content\/news\/Savanna-Sabula-overflow-Bridge-construction-delayed-until-November--482331731.html\">report in early May <\/a>that said the bridge wouldn&#8217;t be open until Thanksgiving was retracted\/corrected to Labor Day. When the closure started, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.news.iowadot.gov\/newsandinfo\/2018\/02\/mississippi-river-overflow-bridge-on-us-52-north-of-sabula-closed-iatraffic.html\">which was ahead of schedule<\/a> because &#8220;an issue occurred during construction&#8221;, the original timeline was to be <em>done<\/em> by Memorial Day.<\/p>\n<p>A story from KDTH Radio said the <a href=\"http:\/\/kdth.radiodubuque.com\/update-sabula-bridge-closure-to-last-until-july\/\">original plan was for a 40-day closure<\/a>.
