{"id":10898,"date":"2019-04-17T10:00:31","date_gmt":"2019-04-17T15:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/?p=10898"},"modified":"2019-04-15T23:54:08","modified_gmt":"2019-04-16T04:54:08","slug":"webster-county-museum-in-trouble","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2019\/04\/webster-county-museum-in-trouble\/","title":{"rendered":"Webster County Museum in trouble"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The roof of the former Otho Elementary is in horrible shape and has put the Webster County Museum&#8217;s future in question, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.messengernews.net\/news\/local-news\/2019\/04\/museum-in-crisis\/\">reports the <em>Fort Dodge Messenger<\/em>.<\/a>\u00a0The museum also has mold.<\/p>\n<p>One of the museum&#8217;s volunteers was killed in a traffic accident and the curator is in a wheelchair.<\/p>\n<p>The article says the museum opened in the school in August 2001, which contradicts a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.messengernews.net\/news\/local-news\/2015\/08\/then-came-the-rain\/\"><em>Messenger<\/em> article from 2015<\/a> \u2014 also about the building&#8217;s leaky roof \u2014 when the curator said the museum opened in August 2003.
