Now we know that whatever&#8217;s left of the shambles of Sears\/Kmart won&#8217;t include Iowa.<\/p>\n<p>KCHA radio reported Nov. 6 that the <a href=\"https:\/\/kchanews.com\/2019\/11\/06\/charles-city-kmart-set-to-close-in-early-2020\">Charles City Kmart will close in February<\/a>.\u00a0In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.com\/this-day-in-history\/thomas-jefferson-and-john-adams-die\">Thomas-Jefferson-still-survives<\/a> ironic twist, that story said Algona&#8217;s store would be the last survivor, but on the same day, KLGA radio reported that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.algonaradio.com\/2019\/11\/algona-kmart-store-to-close\/\">Algona&#8217;s Kmart will also be closing for good.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Algona&#8217;s Kmart is, soon was, the only big-box retailer for dozens of miles in that part of Iowa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Weeks ago, USA Today reported that more Sears and Kmart stores would be closing in the future, but did not have information about which ones.
