One should try to nudge the writer discreetly.\u00a0Pointing at the<em> New York Times<\/em>, which to my knowledge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.poynter.org\/reporting-editing\/2017\/by-dismantling-its-copy-desk-the-new-york-times-is-making-a-mistake-thats-been-made-before\/\">doesn&#8217;t have a copy desk anymore<\/a>, though&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/etherville.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12472\" alt=\"etherville\" src=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/etherville.png\" width=\"562\" height=\"70\" srcset=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/etherville.png 562w, http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/etherville-300x37.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 562px) 100vw, 562px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You may not know this, but Etherville is the vacation home of the Ether Bunny. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/10\/26\/us\/politics\/senate-iowa-ernst-greenfield.html\">The Monday article in question<\/a> is bylined from Donnellson, in the opposite corner of the state.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/norfolk-sioux-city-nebraska-weather-iowa-2f701fbb37126dc26883a5de21312bdc\">But let&#8217;s ask the Associated Press&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>In northern Iowa, the town of <strong>Ocheyendan<\/strong> saw more than 6 inches (15.24 centimeters), and the communities of Swea City, <strong>Esterville<\/strong> and Ringsted saw about 5 inches (12.7 centimeters).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Always be on your toes, lest you get a snarky post from some blogger. Estherville is a very nice town and deserves love and having its name spelled correctly by major media organizations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Typos are nasty things.
