{"id":12932,"date":"2021-04-12T10:00:25","date_gmt":"2021-04-12T15:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/?p=12932"},"modified":"2021-04-10T01:12:19","modified_gmt":"2021-04-10T06:12:19","slug":"i-35-bridge-project-creates-detours-for-us-30","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2021\/04\/i-35-bridge-project-creates-detours-for-us-30\/","title":{"rendered":"I-35 bridge project creates detours for US 30"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two years after a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcci.com\/article\/i-35-flyover-bridge-at-ames-to-open-next-week\/28941610#\">permanent change<\/a> to the I-35\/US 30 interchange in Ames, a temporary one is here, and this time it will affect some football gameday traffic.<\/p>\n<p>Starting last week, the DOT closed some ramps at the interchange in a project scheduled to last the entire construction season (<a href=\"https:\/\/who13.com\/news\/bridge-repair-project-to-cause-ramp-closures-at-highway-30-interchange-in-ames\/\">story: WHO<\/a>). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news.iowadot.gov\/files\/i35-ames-detour-map.pdf\">According to a PDF<\/a> included in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weareiowa.com\/article\/traffic\/ames-i35-ramp-closure-highway-30-northbound-southbound-iowa-department-of-transportation\/524-4fb2ea09-759d-45a8-8089-b1caf8397826\">story at WOI<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eastbound 30 to northbound 35 will need to use Dayton Avenue and 13th Street.<\/li>\n<li>Westbound 30 to southbound 35 will need to go to the Dayton exit and turn around.<\/li>\n<li>Southbound 35 to eastbound 30 will need to go to the Dayton exit and turn around.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>My thinking is, if you are trying to get to NB 35 after a game, go over to Grand Avenue\u00a0or Duff Avenue and go north to 13th that way.
