{"id":13418,"date":"2021-08-12T10:00:58","date_gmt":"2021-08-12T15:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/?p=13418"},"modified":"2021-08-07T14:04:59","modified_gmt":"2021-08-07T19:04:59","slug":"iowa-state-fair-2021-metal-detectors-no-tram","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2021\/08\/iowa-state-fair-2021-metal-detectors-no-tram\/","title":{"rendered":"Iowa State Fair 2021: Metal detectors, NO TRAM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I once said <a href=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2016\/08\/does-iowa-state-fair-need-more-promotion-in-eastern-iowa\/\">a year without the Iowa State Fair<\/a> would be unfathomable.<\/p>\n<p>Well, we&#8217;ve seen and heard a lot of unfathomable things lately.<\/p>\n<p>Now the Iowa State Fair is BACK, but with a couple of changes that show things aren&#8217;t what they used to be.<\/p>\n<p>First, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vh_S4jbwiiA\">there are metal detectors<\/a> at the entrances now.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vh_S4jbwiiA\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Second, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iowastatefair.org\/participate\/whats-new\">from the fair&#8217;s website<\/a>: &#8220;For crowd and pedestrian safety, the inner grounds trams or tractor drawn trailers will not be running.&#8221; This is not good, and I say that as someone with their knees intact. I really hope this is a one-time thing.
