The bridge <a href=\"https:\/\/elkader-iowa.com\/keystone-bridge-update\/\">closes to vehicular traffic today<\/a> for a rehabilitation project. Work is expected to last until October.<\/p>\n<p>The bridge was completed in 1889 and was part of the Iowa highway system until 1982. A history of the bridge and its predecessors, along with lots of photos, <a href=\"https:\/\/elkader-iowa.com\/lab\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Combined-bridges-article-1.pdf\">can be found here<\/a>.
