Titanic was called the &#8220;Ship of Dreams,&#8221; and it was, it really was.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HyL1KrzqC0M\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Yes, I typed that completely from memory.<\/p>\n<p><em>Titanic<\/em> remains my (tied-for-)favorite movie of all time. Paramount Network loves using it to take up four hours of the day and I&#8217;ll drop in when I&#8217;m on the treadmill and there&#8217;s nothing else on.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll refer you to the <a href=\"https:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2017\/12\/20th-anniversary-of-titanic-and-some-reflections\/\">post I wrote five years ago<\/a>. The only part that hasn&#8217;t aged well is looking forward to <em>Star Wars Episode VIII<\/em>. Rian Johnson remains a fugitive from justice for the crimes he committed against what used to be known as the Galactic Empire. (Conversely, I might have reacted a bit to the end of <em>Episode IX<\/em>, if you know what I mean.)<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m still learning new things about the ship&#8217;s story, such as how Wallace Hartley&#8217;s violin was recovered with his body and has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.classicfm.com\/music-news\/million-dollar-titanic-violin-goes-on-display\/\">become the most valuable artifact from the sinking<\/a>. (The violin was a clue on &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; last week, and another clue attributed the phrase &#8220;tip of the iceberg&#8221; to the disaster.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;and I can still smell the fresh paint.
