According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.navy.mil\/our-collections\/photography\/us-navy-ships\/battleships.html\">US Navy&#8217;s battleships page<\/a>, that vessel doesn&#8217;t exist, although Wikipedia says that <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Montana-class_battleship\">&#8220;Montana-class battleships&#8221;<\/a> reached the design stage.<\/p>\n<p>Due to a few seconds of video that technically creates a continuity error, I can tell that at least some of the action was filmed on a real battleship, one that just so happens to be docked in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14744\" src=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/QLBB61.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/QLBB61.jpg 400w, http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/QLBB61-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s BB-61, the Battleship of Presidents, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.navy.mil\/our-collections\/photography\/us-navy-ships\/battleships\/iowa-bb-61.html\">the <em>USS Iowa<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Monday&#8217;s episode of &#8220;Quantum Leap&#8221; was set in 1989 aboard what the script and visual effects intend to be the USS Montana, BB-77.
