It didn&#8217;t have local news broadcasts for 16 years, 1983-99. The entire news operation is being cancelled again.<\/p>\n<p>The <em><a href=\"https:\/\/siouxcityjournal.com\/news\/local\/siouxland-news-to-fill-local-news-slots-with-national-desk-coverage\/article_35827c70-e90f-11ed-9a17-a7dbae0657b2.html\">Sioux City Journal<\/a><\/em>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/davebusiek.substack.com\/p\/should-cnn-cancel-its-trump-town\">h\/t Dave Busiek<\/a>) and <a href=\"https:\/\/kscj.com\/2023\/04\/28\/local-tv-news-to-end-on-cbs-14-kpth\/\">KSCJ radio<\/a> both say that KMEG&#8217;s last local broadcast is tonight. Sinclair will run a national news show there instead, as it does on KFXA in eastern Iowa.
