It says &#8220;Michigan Notre Dame Iowa State Wisconsin.&#8221; Not quite.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Connelly writes, &#8220;Eastern Indiana did provide us with something we missed in southern Iowa, however: the Amish.&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/amishamerica.com\/iowa-amish\/\">There is a substantial Amish community in Washington County.<\/a> I don&#8217;t know if he meant &#8220;miss&#8221; as in &#8220;we knew about them and didn&#8217;t see them&#8221; or &#8220;there were no Amish in southern Iowa,&#8221; which would be wrong.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Iowa City was among Bill Connelly&#8217;s stops in &#8220;a journey through football&#8217;s heartland.&#8221; It gives you a good taste for the area, but two things stand out: The link writer needs more familiarity with the area.
