{"id":5091,"date":"2014-07-16T09:01:09","date_gmt":"2014-07-16T14:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/?p=5091"},"modified":"2014-07-13T15:23:39","modified_gmt":"2014-07-13T20:23:39","slug":"where-is-219th-lane","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2014\/07\/where-is-219th-lane\/","title":{"rendered":"Where is 219th Lane?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A curious item in this month&#8217;s Iowa Transportation Commission minutes:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.news.iowadot.gov\/newsandinfo\/2014\/07\/actions-taken-by-the-iowa-transportation-commission-at-its-july-8-meeting-in-ames-.html\"><em>Transfer of Jurisdiction \u2013 219th Lane in Boone County<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Most of US 30 through Boone County has the rural address of 220th Street. The only 219th Lane I see on the map is a short road in the northwest quadrant of the US 30\/IA 17 interchange.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Boone News-Republican<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/newsrepublican.com\/news\/219th-lane-be-paved-wicks-construction.html\">has a story from March 12<\/a> saying the road, which serves a few businesses, was going to be paved. It also says it &#8220;was a state-owned frontage road running parallel to U.S. Highway 30.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s very interesting. The state of Iowa generally doesn&#8217;t own frontage roads, at least to my knowledge.
