There was an all-school reunion, tours of the building, and a community-wide celebration.\u00a0The following Monday, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crestonnewsadvertiser.com\/2014\/09\/16\/creston-prescott-consolidation-a-possibility\/amgqxxc\/ \">Prescott&#8217;s superintendent was talking to neighboring Creston<\/a> about consolidation.<\/p>\n<p>What a difference four days makes.<\/p>\n<p>Adams County is the least densely populated in Iowa. It has two census tracts. The one containing three-quarters of the county \u2014 everything north and east of Corning, including Prescott \u2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usa.com\/IA003950100.html\">has a population density of 5.1 people per square mile<\/a>.\u00a0By at least one federal definition \u2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gpo.gov\/fdsys\/pkg\/FR-2012-11-05\/html\/2012-26938.htm\">the HHS, for rural health services<\/a> \u2014 that census tract would qualify as <em>frontier <\/em>because it has fewer than six people per square mile.<\/p>\n<p>Prescott has no sixth-graders this year, reports the <em>Creston News-Advertiser<\/em>. Grades 7-12 already go elsewhere.
