However, the story has mixed up the bridge <em>across the Missouri River<\/em> and bridges <em>across Interstate 29<\/em>, which got\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kmaland.com\/news\/highway-i--interchange-opens\/article_43ad6280-5618-11e4-9801-0017a43b2370.html\">that exact new configuration last week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Westbound lanes of the $140 million bridge opened late Thursday. All summer, traffic had been diverted onto two eastbound lanes on one side of the bridge, said George Feazell, a district engineer for the Iowa Department of Transportation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <em>Lincoln Journal-Star\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/journalstar.com\/news\/state-and-regional\/nebraska\/new-bridge-gives-nebraska-drivers-another-link-to-i\/article_9d6e6a1f-8e44-510f-b5ed-3e348bf1b7e1.html\">writes as if the new bridge has <em>not<\/em> opened<\/a>, and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wowt.com\/home\/headlines\/Bridge-From-Glenwood-To-Plattsmouth-Opening-Soon-278568201.html\">WOWT story from earlier this month<\/a> clearly showed the bridge wasn&#8217;t being used. Either way, it is scheduled to be open to regular traffic tomorrow afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE: So <em>that&#8217;s<\/em> why the ribbon cutting is so early: Gov. Branstad is due to<a href=\"https:\/\/governor.iowa.gov\/2014\/10\/gov-branstad-and-lt-gov-reynolds-speak-at-iowa-tourism-conference\/\"> speak at the Iowa Tourism Conference<\/a> in Council Bluffs at 11:30.
