{"id":5473,"date":"2014-11-07T10:39:30","date_gmt":"2014-11-07T16:39:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/?p=5473"},"modified":"2014-11-07T00:53:59","modified_gmt":"2014-11-07T06:53:59","slug":"more-on-the-ia-926-transfer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2014\/11\/more-on-the-ia-926-transfer\/","title":{"rendered":"More on the IA 926 transfer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A couple of the questions posed in Monday&#8217;s post about transferring <a href=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/ends\/ia926.html\">IA 926<\/a> (Business US 169) to the city of Fort Dodge have been answered after the Transportation Commission&#8217;s meeting Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>First, the bridges aren&#8217;t going away, so to speak. The item in the minutes <a href=\"http:\/\/www.news.iowadot.gov\/newsandinfo\/2014\/11\/actions-taken-by-the-iowa-transportation-commission-at-its-nov-4-meeting-in-ames.html\">specifically says the transfer is &#8220;excluding bridges.&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0So the state will still be responsible for them. (Whether they stay under the 926 designation in route logs, I don&#8217;t know.)<\/p>\n<p>Second, an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iowadot.gov\/program_management\/Proposed%202015-2019%20Iowa%20Highway%20Program%20Amendment.pdf\">amendment to the highway plan (PDF)<\/a> adds $9 million for pavement rehabilitation on that route during the current fiscal year.
