{"id":6824,"date":"2015-12-07T10:00:20","date_gmt":"2015-12-07T16:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/?p=6824"},"modified":"2015-12-04T19:23:13","modified_gmt":"2015-12-05T01:23:13","slug":"iowas-second-diverging-diamond-planned-for-ankeny","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2015\/12\/iowas-second-diverging-diamond-planned-for-ankeny\/","title":{"rendered":"Iowa&#8217;s second diverging diamond planned for Ankeny"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last week, shortly after the first diverging diamond interchange in Iowa <a href=\"http:\/\/www.radioiowa.com\/2015\/11\/26\/unique-i-80-interchange-to-open-next-week-video\/\">opened in Dallas County<\/a>, the Iowa DOT released plans for a second interchange of that style, also in the Des Moines metro area.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.news.iowadot.gov\/pim\/2015\/11\/i-35-polk-county-.html\">DOT has multiple maps<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desmoinesregister.com\/story\/news\/local\/ankeny\/2015\/12\/04\/diverging-diamond-interchange-planned-ankeny\/76784222\/\"><em>Register<\/em> has an article<\/a> ahead of a meeting scheduled for Dec. 15. The DOT is going to six-lane I-35 from 1st Street (<a href=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/ends\/ia931.html\">former IA 931<\/a>) to the north Ankeny exit that opened in 2011. The 1st Street exit will be turned from a diamond into a diverging diamond.
