It didn&#8217;t look in good shape. It turns out the building is indeed abandoned and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iowadnr.gov\/About-DNR\/DNR-News-Releases\/ArticleID\/727\/DNR-Derelict-Building-Grant-Program-Awards-Grants-to-15-Rural-Communities\">town has been awarded $50,000 from the DNR<\/a> to tear it down. Ironically, it&#8217;s one of the few entries on the DNR list that doesn&#8217;t include the word &#8220;asbestos&#8221;; perhaps it&#8217;s automatically understood to be part of the &#8220;deconstruct&#8221; line.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I featured the Vincent school building in my alphabetical series (which is still going on; just search the Sequences category).
