There will be a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.news.iowadot.gov\/pim\/2016\/05\/interstate-35-polkstory-counties-june-20.html\">meeting then in Huxley<\/a> about I-35 between Ankeny and Ames, <a href=\"http:\/\/amestrib.com\/news\/iowa-dot-looks-expand-i-35-six-lanes-between-ames-ankeny\">the <em>Ames Tribune<\/em> reports.<\/a>\u00a0Construction would be about five years out.<\/p>\n<p>Construction on the new Skunk River bridges accounts for three lanes in each direction (hence the new roadbed there), and six-laning I-35 between the Oralabor Road and NE 36th Street exits in Ankeny <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kcci.com\/news\/major-changes-ahead-for-interstate35-near-ankeny\/38677640\">is part of a different project<\/a> that would change the 1st Street exit to a diverging diamond.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the heavily traveled rural Iowa interstate corridors that needs to be upgraded to six lanes takes a baby step in that direction on Monday.
