{"id":7724,"date":"2016-07-07T10:00:56","date_gmt":"2016-07-07T15:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/?p=7724"},"modified":"2016-07-04T00:15:52","modified_gmt":"2016-07-04T05:15:52","slug":"benton-30-218-interchange-moves-forward","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2016\/07\/benton-30-218-interchange-moves-forward\/","title":{"rendered":"Benton 30-218 interchange moves forward"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On June 30 the Iowa DOT <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kcrg.com\/content\/news\/Iowa-DOT-presents-plans-for-US-218Highway-30-interchange-385127551.html\">held another meeting<\/a> about converting the US 30\/218 intersection in southern Benton County into an interchange. It won&#8217;t be finished until 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The interchange has ramps in the northwest and southeast quadrants to avoid both Youngville Station and a cemetery. The existing roadbed will be shifted southward starting just east of Youngville, so the westbound lanes will gradually shift south of the existing ones until they&#8217;re about where the eastbound lanes would be if the two-lane stayed in place.<\/p>\n<p>Along <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iowadot.gov\/pim\/documents\/063016US30BentonPD1.pdf\">with the interchange plan (PDF)<\/a>, we also got a timeline for completion of four-laning 30 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iowadot.gov\/pim\/documents\/063016US30BentonPD2.pdf\">from that location to Tama (PDF)<\/a>. There are four stages: Tama to IA 21, the IA 21 exit, 21 to 218, and the 218 exit.
