Open photo in new window\/tab for larger view.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In September 2014, the Eldora-New Providence school board <a href=\"http:\/\/radioonthego.com\/index.php\/contentdetail\/contentdetails\/5\/5\/9540\">approved the demolition of the 1916 building<\/a> that had been the high school until the early 1990s and then ENP Middle School until 2008. But a year after demolition was approved \u2014 as you can see in the photo of RAGBRAI campers \u2014 it was still there. A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timescitizen.com\/news\/e-np-district-gets-state-grant-to-help-with-demolition\/article_6c8957f6-03a4-11e5-aa59-9346142c1b62.html\">state grant was given in May 2015<\/a> to help pay for the demolition.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8005\" src=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/ENPTigers.jpg\" alt=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" width=\"500\" height=\"440\" srcset=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/ENPTigers.jpg 500w, http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/ENPTigers-300x264.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Eldora-New Providence began whole-grade sharing with Hubbard-Radcliffe in 2007, making this building (and later additions) superfluous. The two districts, together as South Hardin, have never consolidated, and won&#8217;t until at least the <a href=\"http:\/\/radioonthego.com\/index.php\/contentdetail\/contentdetails\/5\/5\/19926 \">middle of the next decade<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE 7\/21\/22: Corrected year sharing begain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>July 21, 2015: A lone RAGBRAI tent is pitched on the west side of the original Eldora school building.
