Again."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Less than a decade after opening a new high school facility and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thegazette.com\/2014\/02\/04\/48-million-bond-referendum-for-clear-creek-amana-school-district-passes\">3\u00bd years after approving a bond issue<\/a> for a fourth elementary school, Clear Creek Amana needs more room.<\/p>\n<p>On Sept. 12 \u2014 the same day Gladbrook-Reinbeck will vote on whether to blow itself up \u2014 the district that crossed the 2000-enrollment threshold last year is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thegazette.com\/subject\/news\/education\/with-tax-future-uncertain-growing-school-districts-turn-to-voters-20170715\">putting forth a $36 million bond issue<\/a>. According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.soloneconomist.com\/content\/another-bond-vote-cca-2017\"><em>Solon Economist\/North Liberty Leader<\/em><\/a>, this is the first of two planned bond issues. This one would cover a fifth elementary school, a new gym in Amana, and more classrooms at the high school. (The current high school opened in 2009 connected to the existing building on the same campus, <a href=\"http:\/\/ortho.gis.iastate.edu\/arcgis\/services\/ortho\/naip_2015_nc\/ImageServer\/WMSServer?wmtver=1.0&amp;request=map&amp;bbox=610546,4617819,611146,4618269&amp;width=600&amp;height=450&amp;layers=naip_2015_nc&amp;format=jpeg&amp;srs=EPSG:26915&amp;styles=\">everything with a purple roof in this picture<\/a>. The leftmost gray-roofed part is even newer.)<\/p>\n<p>A second bond issue, planned for 2022, would go to an all-new high school and a <em>sixth<\/em> elementary. At its current growth rate, the district would be twice the size it was at the turn of the century, but it &#8220;was determined the district is better off with one large high school rather than two smaller facilities,&#8221; the <em>Economist\/Leader<\/em> reported.
