A crowd at the meeting hoping to save the school left in sadness.<\/p>\n<p>As soon as the notice of &#8220;consideration&#8221; was made, the Waterville school was toast. The only recent time that an elementary was saved was Crescent, and a repeat was not in the works.<\/p>\n<p>Based on enrollment statistics <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waukonstandard.com\/articles\/2017\/11\/08\/public-forum-planned-november-13-discuss-future-waterville-elementary-school\">in another article<\/a>, the two elementary schools in Waukon have taken heavy losses in the past 20 years.
