Not surprisingly, it&#8217;s in northeast Montana.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kansas.com\/news\/local\/article201811334.html\">Kansans had something to say<\/a> about six towns appearing on the three lists (of different population ranges). It&#8217;s a teensy bit of a hitch to point out that Colby, the most remote town between 5,000 and 25,000, is on an interstate \u2014 as are Rock Springs and Gillette WY. I&#8217;ve been through Colby and Oakley, and then also in Houghton, my highest on this list not near an interstate, <a href=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2013\/10\/upper-midwest-trip-day-5\/\">on Michigan&#8217;s Upper Peninsula<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 30 towns on the table, I&#8217;ve been to 10 of them. In fact, in the 25,000-or-more list, I&#8217;ve stayed overnight in three of them \u2014 Clovis, Roswell, and Dodge City.<\/p>\n<p>Now, will I ever get to Glasgow or Wolf Point, Montana? It&#8217;s doubtful, but I&#8217;d likely see it from the Empire Builder train.
