(July 1, 1920-December 1930)
NORTH End: Meriden, Cherokee County
If towns took it upon themselves to mark the route into town, this is likely where IA 33 would have ended up, on Eagle Street and Meriden's one-block downtown. (10/3/16)
SOUTH End: IA 5, now L51 at C32, Cherokee County
When the highway was moved closer to the railroad and the towns west of Cherokee, Meriden (1920 pop. 218, 2010 pop. 159) lost its own route, but gained a much better connection. This is NOT at the south end of 33, but is the sign on today's IA 3. (10/3/16)
