He was elected to the U.S. House in <a href=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2020\/12\/tama-jim-and-his-second-stint-in-congress-1\/\">1882<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2020\/12\/when-tama-jim-honored-ulysses-s-grant-2\/\">1884<\/a>.
