{"id":13138,"date":"2021-06-01T10:00:10","date_gmt":"2021-06-01T15:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/?p=13138"},"modified":"2021-06-01T00:07:50","modified_gmt":"2021-06-01T05:07:50","slug":"notes-on-2021-iowa-map","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2021\/06\/notes-on-2021-iowa-map\/","title":{"rendered":"Notes on 2021 Iowa map"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I guess Map Day is officially the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news.iowadot.gov\/newsandinfo\/2021\/05\/2021-2022-iowa-transportation-map-now-available.html\">Friday of Memorial Day weekend<\/a> now. <a href=\"https:\/\/iowadot.gov\/maps\/msp\/pdf\/current\/stmapmain.pdf\">Here&#8217;s the big new PDF.<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dubuque&#8217;s Southwest Arterial is marked on both the main map and <a href=\"https:\/\/iowadot.gov\/maps\/msp\/pdf\/current\/dubuque.pdf\">Dubuque inset<\/a>. IA 32 is dead, US 52 has been removed from the city, and IA 3&#8217;s east end is at the now-former <a href=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/maps\/sageville.html\">north end of 32<\/a>, which is a logical place for it. The arterial has the full-size freeway line, which I wouldn&#8217;t be surprised to see reduced to a thinner line like IA 100 later.<\/li>\n<li>The US 30\/US 218 interchange is marked, and has exit number 231.<\/li>\n<li>On the Waterloo-Cedar Falls inset, the IA 58 expressway has the Viking Road interchange and <a href=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2021\/04\/ia-58-extension-to-get-exit-numbers\/\">IA 27&#8217;s exit numbers on it<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Pioneer, in the southwest corner of Humboldt County, is now an <a href=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2020\/09\/941\/\">unincorporated dot<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>One thing it <em>doesn&#8217;t<\/em> have: 2020 city populations in the index. Will there be a stealth 2022 update that changes the index and, if necessary, city dot sizes?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Is that it? I&#8217;m not sure. I can&#8217;t think of anything else to jump out that wasn&#8217;t already on the 2019 or stealth-updated 2020 version. I would be hard-pressed to come up with &#8220;several hundred&#8221; to be sure.
