There&#8217;s a little spot of Polk County between Johnston and Urbandale that both cities somehow overlooked during their torrid growth. It&#8217;s inconvenient for Polk County to respond to the area, and so there is an effort underway for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desmoinesregister.com\/story\/news\/local\/johnston\/2014\/06\/10\/johnston-annex-city-council\/10229267\/\">Johnston to annex that little rectangle<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On a related note, Waukee and Clive may be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desmoinesregister.com\/story\/news\/local\/waukee\/2014\/06\/07\/waukee-homes-might-move-clive-west-des-moines-annexation-boundaries-alices-road-around-metro-register-staff\/10117107\/\">ironing out their lines along Alice&#8217;s Road<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>(As for that long, populated strip of Polk County between Aurora Avenue and I-35\/80 that so obviously should belong to Des Moines&#8230;don&#8217;t ask.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0(from the Des Moines inset) I like clean maps, so this is something that is nice to see.
