I say &#8220;the west&#8221; because US 20 is atop the survey correction line here, and there is a portion where to the north is Sac County and to the south is Ida County.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike the section <a href=\"http:\/\/www.news.iowadot.gov\/pim\/2015\/03\/us-20-woodbury-ida-counties-march-31-2015.html\">between US 59 and Correctionville<\/a>, this four-lane plan keeps the existing US 20 roadbed more or less intact as the new eastbound lanes with one exception: the dip away from the correction line <a href=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/ends\/ia326.html\">just west of Galva<\/a> will be mostly straightened.<\/p>\n<p>Compared to most expressway projects, little right-of-way remains to be acquired, showing decades-ago hope\/foresight of the DOT to have land ready for expansion.
