{"id":9364,"date":"2017-11-17T10:00:25","date_gmt":"2017-11-17T16:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/?p=9364"},"modified":"2017-11-17T01:33:54","modified_gmt":"2017-11-17T07:33:54","slug":"new-sabula-bridge-opens-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/blog\/2017\/11\/new-sabula-bridge-opens-today\/","title":{"rendered":"New Sabula bridge opens today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/ends\/Fall15\/0927\/52MSRiverBridge.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"335\" \/><br \/>\n<em><strong>September 27, 2015:<\/strong> My last trip across the <a href=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/ends\/statelines\/us52.html\">Savanna-Sabula Bridge<\/a>, before any major construction began on its replacement.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A ribbon cutting for the new US 52\/IA 64 bridge over the Mississippi River, officially known as the\u00a0Dale Gardner Veterans Memorial Bridge, will be at 1 PM today. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.saukvalley.com\/2017\/11\/14\/new-savanna-bridge-will-open-friday\/a7w0mg7\/\">That&#8217;s from saukvalley.com<\/a>; there was nothing about it on the Iowa DOT&#8217;s news page.<\/p>\n<p>This is the third <a href=\"http:\/\/iowahighwayends.net\/maps\/iowabridges.html\">Iowa border bridge<\/a> to have &#8220;Veterans Memorial&#8221; in its name, and the first on the east side.
