(November 20, 1920-April 5, 1926)
WEST End (1): IA 6, now Main Street at Broadway, Council
Bluffs, Pottawattamie County
Facing north on Main (6/21/17)
Because IA 104 was not a spur and specifically truncated southeast of Council Bluffs in 1924, it would have been signed all the way to downtown to start. That would have brought it to the western nexus of the 1920 system, Broadway and Main.
WEST End (2): IA 8/IA 12, now G66 at L35, Pottawattamie County
The Great Truncation lopped off the overlap into the city. This is about three miles southeast of the Iowa School for the Deaf.
EAST End: IA 4, now G66 at M21, near Macedonia, Pottawattamie County
The intersection is on the far west end of Macedonia, and while the junction with M21 is signed that road goes gravel quickly. It would be nine years before a different east-west connection in southern Pottawattamie County, today's IA 92, would be added to the system.
This mural isn't at the end point, but it's in Macedonia, and so the IA 104 page gives me an excuse to use this. (8/23/19)
