WEST End: I-35 exit 132 (partial interchange), Forest Lake MN, Washington County MN

Facing west on 8

Like IA 8, US 8 is exceptionally short for a one-digit route. In fact, it barely makes it out of either side of Wisconsin; more than 90% of it is in that state.

Facing west on 8

The last sign on US 8 is for an exit on I-35. Much like US 65 at Albert Lea, 8's end is a partial interchange (northbound exit/southbound entrance; it's the other way around for 65's north end).

Facing north on 35

In 2001, the city of Forest Lake jumped in Minnesota's population rankings by absorbing the entire township of Forest Lake - adding nearly 9000 people. Judging by the official Minnesota state map, the same has happened to other townships in counties surrounding the Twin Cities.

Facing north on 35

The next exit is for the north end of US 61.

Facing south on 35

For southbound traffic, US 8 is signed via County Road 2.

Surrounding area information: Junction US 61

Facing south on 61

The last US routes that 8 and 61 intersect before ending are each other.

Just east of US 61 is the second sign for 8. In a rarity for Minnesota, it's only on one post.

EAST End: US 2/7th Ave., Norway MI, Dickinson County MI

Barely more than 2 miles into Michigan, US 8 comes to an end at US 2.
