Closely compare this photo with Jason's above. It seems a pole with a 65 shield and ahead-and-left arrow has been removed.

Because 65 is the turning road but doesn't have a curve, northbound traffic stops. Now that 205 is a county road it might be a little funny to stop at a county road - IA 224 does the same, but that was a 1980 extension.

No Iowa county seat is on 65 after Indianola (in fact, no town above 600 is either), so Missouri pops up very early on LGSs, probably the earliest instance outside of third cities on leaving-town LGSs (or maybe even including them).

"G58 Hwy" instead of "Hwy" or "Co Rd G58"?

Following turnover of IA 205, Milo moved the 25-mph speed limit farther out.

Paving records before 1990, when the route was truncated to the city limits, had a "61-ft section" included in it. Since I hadn't been to Milo when I did this research, I couldn't figure out where this wide road was. But the distances given correspond to a route that would have gone south on S23 to Main Street and then east through downtown to end at a T intersection.

The gazebo in the middle of 205's two downtown blocks was added after the town took over its portion.
