More on the IA 926 transfer

A couple of the questions posed in Monday’s post about transferring IA 926 (Business US 169) to the city of Fort Dodge have been answered after the Transportation Commission’s meeting Tuesday.

First, the bridges aren’t going away, so to speak. The item in the minutes specifically says the transfer is “excluding bridges.” So the state will still be responsible for them. (Whether they stay under the 926 designation in route logs, I don’t know.)

Second, an amendment to the highway plan (PDF) adds $9 million for pavement rehabilitation on that route during the current fiscal year. There’s the price tag for the transfer.

There are other items in that amendment as well, including US 218 between US 30 and Vinton (which needs it).
